DMD Illuminators

Innovations in Optics' UV LED illuminators are ideal for TI’s larger DLP chipsets. LumiDL™ and Lumi3D™ optical design provides highly uniform flux density over large areas. Radiant flux is confined to 12° acceptance half-angle and DLP active area.

Light uniformity, wavelength options, and intense brightness are critical for today’s semiconductor and additive manufacturing industries.  Discover what these modular illumination products can do for you.

Our DMD illuminators have a field replaceable unit (FRU) providing fast and easy light engine replacement.

FAQ

These systems deliver high radiant power onto the DMD (greater than 30 W on DLP9500 and greater than 20 W on DLP7000 for LumiDL; 25–32 W UV for Lumi3D) with bi-telecentric imaging, multispectral imaging, liquid cooling, and field-replaceable light engine units, all optimized for the specific DLP chipset.

Most customers system output power will be dictated by the pixel with the lowest power incident on it, with higher power pixels dithered to reduce power in those regions; IOI’s DMD illuminators deliver low non-uniformity <10%.

LumiDL supports DLP9500 and DLP7000, and smaller chips can also be supported if they have a 12° mirror tilt angle. Lumi3D is designed for the DLP9000. Both are supplied as kits that include the optics module and specialized driver.

Bi-telecentric optics maintain uniform irradiance and minimize distortion across the large DMD active area, which is required for high-resolution maskless lithography and 3D polymer printing.

Liquid-cooled heat exchangers with quick-disconnect couplings keep LED junction temperatures low at high drive currents to support long lifetime and stable output.

Yes. Multispectral versions are offered from a single illuminator, and custom wavelength sets can be supplied.

The 5500A multi-channel driver provides independent current control (up to 5 A per channel) for uniform current density across the LED array.
