Q: What do you do at bioMérieux?
A: I’m part of the local R&D team and I’m technically leading the development of some instruments for industrial and clinical applications, starting from feasibility phase up to the transfer in manufacturing. I’m also managing relationships with academic partners collaborating with our team on innovative solutions.
Q: How did you first hear about IOI and our LED Illuminators, and how long have you been a client?
A: I first heard about IOI 3 years ago when I started working on the GENE UP thermocycler.
Q: Please tell me the product(s) you have purchased from IOI and their application(s).
A: The Illuminators for Gene Up analyzer is the product we buy; they were present in the original design since the beginning and never changed.
Q: Would you tell me why you chose IOI and our products over others on the market?
A: The illuminators have been chosen by the original designer of the product; we have taken them in the frame of a design transfer project
Q: How would you describe IOI’s expertise in High Power Solid-State Illuminators?
A: What I can say is that the IOI illuminators were giving good performance and no reason to challenge this product has occurred. This could be considered an index of good expertise.
Q: How would you rate IOI’s customer service and responsiveness?
A: As soon as some issues occurred, IOI has always been available to implement effective and timely corrective and preventive action
Q: Please describe the performance and best attribute(s) of your IOI illuminator(s)?
A: Good compromise between performances and cost.
Q: How have IOI’s products enabled the success of your instrument/application?
A: They are part of the design since the beginning and no reason to change them occurred.
Q: What has been the most positive aspect of working with IOI?
A: I’m not in continuous contact with IOI, however they were available to provide technical data and answer questions.
Q: Would you recommend IOI to others, and if so, what would you say?
A: I would surely recommend considering IOI in case of benchmarking about solid state technology products.
