Our staff has extensive optical systems design experience. From traditional lens design to complex stray light analysis, we are experts in designing your optical system with optical modeling software such as Zemax® and TracePro®. In addition to providing our customers with optimized designs, we offer prototyping services including assembly and testing in our fully equipped engineering facilities.

Case Study

A customer required a high-resolution inspection system to work over a large field of view. They also needed to vary the acceptance angle of the system from 1° to 25° in 1° increments.

Innovations in Optics delivered a creative solution that included a symmetric near diffraction-limited, telecentric, re-imaging lens system with a central pupil. The size of the pupil was automatically adjusted by using a sliding aperture plate with 25 holes that corresponded to the required acceptance angles.

This innovative solution enabled our customer to achieve throughput efficiencies during the inspection process that were considered unattainable. The cost savings from the process improvement has paid for the development work many times over.
