Electro-Optical Engineer

Job Description:

We are currently looking for an electro-optical engineer to be responsible for design/modeling and assembly & test of LED illumination systems. 

Essential Duties

Develop LED-based optical illumination systems. Design optical layouts and components; define optical device and component specs; build/test prototype assemblies and systems; conduct experiments; test LEDs & optical devices for spec compliance; work with vendors to resolve issues.

Qualifications

• BS/MS in Optics, Physics or EE with an emphasis on design with 5-10 years direct experience.

• Working knowledge of LED illumination design, concepts and color science. Experience with Zemax and SolidWorks software.

Opto-mechanical Engineer

Essential Duties

• Provide engineering solutions for complex opto-mechanical illumination systems
• Design to meet performance, reliability, manufacturability, and cost targets
• Select components, materials and assembly techniques to meet requirements.
  
• Create detailed fabrication specifications and interface with vendors
• Develop and implement test plans and procedures for verification testing and document results.

Qualifications

• Degree in Mechanical Engineering
• 7-10 years related experience in the mechanical design of high stability opto-mechanical packaging, including kinematic mounting and precision adjustment and alignment. 
• Ability to design for volume production.
• Demonstrated proficiency in SolidWorks and  PDM.
• Plastic Injection Molding design experience.
• “Hands-on” technical work in a laboratory environment involving metrology, optical alignment, testing, and data collection.
